Email notifications provide a universal, reliable way to deliver StatusStack alerts to individuals, distribution lists, and stakeholders.

Setup Guide

Add Email Recipients

In notification rule:
  1. Select Email channel
  2. Enter email addresses (comma-separated)
  3. Customize subject line (optional)

Configure Format

Choose email format:
  • Rich HTML - Formatted emails with branding
  • Plain Text - Simple text-only emails

Test

Send test email to verify delivery

Email Format

HTML Emails include:
  • Company logo and branding
  • Color-coded status indicators
  • Component details and timeline
  • Quick links to status pages
  • Professional footer

Email Recipients

Supported formats:
  • Single: ops@company.com
  • Multiple: ops@company.com, dev@company.com
  • Distribution lists: team-alerts@company.com
  • External: Client emails (for MSPs)

Best Practices

Instead of individual emails:❌ john@company.com, jane@company.com, bob@company.com βœ… ops-team@company.comEasier to manage team changes
Different emails for different alert levels:
  • Critical: oncall@company.com
  • Degraded: ops@company.com
  • Info: status-updates@company.com
For non-critical updates:
  • Group notifications
  • Send daily summary
  • Reduce inbox noise

Deliverability

Ensure emails aren’t blocked:
  1. Whitelist sender: notifications@statusstack.com
  2. Check spam folder initially
  3. Configure SPF/DKIM (Enterprise)
  4. Custom from address (Enterprise)
