# Activity Log

> Track all changes and actions taken in your organization — who changed what, and when

## Overview

The Activity Log records every significant action taken in your StatusStack organization. Use it to audit changes, investigate incidents, or understand what happened and when.

Navigate to **Settings** → **Activity Log** in your dashboard sidebar.

## What's Tracked

The Activity Log captures actions across your entire organization, including:

* **Stacks** — Created, updated, deleted
* **Monitors** — Created, updated, deleted, status changes
* **Sources** — Added, removed, configured
* **Notification Rules** — Created, updated, deleted
* **Teams** — Members added or removed, roles changed
* **Users** — Profile updates, settings changes
* **Organization Settings** — Configuration changes

Each log entry shows:

* Who performed the action (user name and email)
* What was changed (model type and record)
* When it happened (timestamp)
* What specifically changed (before/after values where available)

## Filtering the Activity Log

The log defaults to the last 30 days. Use the filters to narrow down the results:

| Filter             | Description                                                 |
| ------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| **User**           | Filter to actions by a specific team member                 |
| **Subject Type**   | Filter by the type of record changed (Stack, Monitor, etc.) |
| **Event**          | Filter by event type (created, updated, deleted)            |
| **Date From / To** | Custom date range                                           |
| **Search**         | Free-text search across log entries                         |

Click **Apply Filters** to update the results. Click **Reset** to clear all filters and return to the default view.

## Exporting Activity Data

You can export the activity log from the page header:

* **CSV Export** — Download all filtered activity as a spreadsheet
* Useful for compliance reporting, audits, or investigation timelines

## Activity Log Widget

A summary of recent activity also appears as a widget on your main dashboard. The **Audit Activity** widget shows the most recent actions at a glance, with a link to the full activity log for details.

## Retention

Activity log data is retained for 90 days on standard plans. Enterprise plans may have extended retention — contact support for details.
